Despite a time of transition and a line-up change, the ladies of ilia continue to deliver punchy, positive rock with a distinctly feminine attitude. The fierce edge of their previous project is less evident but the songs of their latest effort, We Were Shipwrecks, have been skillfully whetted and are not lacking in substance nor style. We Were Shipwrecks, is a strong, polished 5 song glimpse of the band's growth and maturity as an ensemble, as well as individual musicians. Fans of Flyleaf, Fireflight, etc. should, at the least, buy a copy of this EP to support htese talented and hard-working gals. Over & above, you should make every effort to catch these ladies in concert!
