The magic of a cappella is best when experienced live. There's nothing like sitting around listening to a group of people sing unaccompanied. A concert by Acappella is certainly no exception.
After 20 years of existence, Acappella is finally releasing a "live" album. Recorded at the Krider Performing Arts Center in Paris, Tennessee (their home town) in August of 2001, it was a night a pure magic caught on tape.

Live In Paris| Posted May 19, 2012
As a longtime fan of the band...especially their ealry works that are now no longer in print, I was really excited when I saw the track listings for this album. It's great to hear the band performing live and many of the tracks brought back special memories from 20 years ago. Sadly some of the tracks seemed a little on the weak side vocally, at least in comparison to the original studio versions. Some of this could be due to what can be done in studios with multiple takes etc...but some of the tracks just seemed to fall a little flat at points. I was able to pick this album up at a very discounted price so will probably keep it, but wouldn't put it at the top of my recommendation list for the band's works overall. My favorite albums by the band are probably "Sweet Fellowship" and "Better Than Life" although they have many good albums.
