Where I Wanna Be [edit]
by V*Enna | Genre: Pop/Rock | Release Date: September 26, 2000

Teen pop is imbedding its catchy, yet provocative, lyrics into the minds of countless teenagers, so it's refreshing to see V*Enna offering a spiritual alternative with a high-energy sound. The duo-made up of Lucy Britten and Sharnessa Shelton-follows the pattern of old and new groups alike, from ABBA to ShineMK. The opening title cut and subsequent "Make That Noize" could easily be heard in a '70s disco club but just as feasibly appear in a hit video on MTV. The ladies don't just focus on the dance jams, though. They slow things down for some power pop ballads, like the uplifting "Sometimes" and the disc's finale "Don't Get Left Behind," a track bearing uncanny resemblance to the Spice Girls' "Goodbye." All together, the record risks sounding too similar from start to finish. Still, the disc has obvious potential appeal to young music fans, offering lyrics that are simple, catchy and repetitive.

Sweet Debut! | Posted November 11, 2008
Man can these girls sing! Much like rival pop group, ZOEgirl, V*Enna brings a fresh, Euro-dance feel to Christmas music. Whether it's the radio-friendly "Where I Wanna Be", the funky "Make That Noize", the inspirational "All the Way to Heaven" or the edgy "Do You Wanna Know?", V*Enna shines on every track! Some of my other faves are "Hold On", "Best Friends" and "Sunshine and Rain". Great debut V*Enna!

I absolutely love this CD. "All The Way To Heaven" is probably my favorite song, although I like all of them. I first heard it on the Christian radio station I listen to, and then I wanted their whole album. I'm sorry that V*Enna never released another CD, because this one is so great.
