Luminate [edit]
by Luminate | Genre: Pop/Rock | Release Date: March 23, 2010

Tyler, TX based Luminate formed five years ago when a couple of the band members were students attending Visible School of Music in Memphis, TN. They have since released a couple independent records and have spent many days and nights on the road touring across the country. Touring relentlessly is part of what the band is about, but more importantly the band’s mission is spreading a message of hope, love and a revolutionary relationship with our Creator. Best described as passionate, stirring and worshipful, Luminate’s musical core is formed around an ambient rock sound. Their songs challenge us to rise above the apathy in today's society, and to pursue our dreams with purpose, while reminding us our lives and what we do has worth.

A great album that I enjoyed so much I added it to my CD collection. Looking forward to future releases and seeing how the Lord uses your gifts.

Great EP | Posted February 02, 2011
So a friend of mine bought this and we listened to it together and were blown away. This EP is very underrated and I can tell just by hearing this sound, that this band is going places. I'm excited for them and can't wait to watch their progress. I'm already on board with being a fan after hearing this EP.

Not the best | Posted May 03, 2010
Not the best album that I've listened to but a pretty good effort. Never really listened to these guys much but liked a few of the songs on this album,

Totally GREAT | Posted April 19, 2010
I saw these guys at ATF in San Antonio, Texas when we took our teens. It was the first time i had ever heard them and thought they were great. Recently I bought the cd without knowing it was theirs, and I think the cd is great. Its got the style along with the worship. being a worship leader in youth ministry and assistant worship leader with our adults, I would totally recommend this album and band to them all.

Short and Sweet | Posted April 09, 2010
This is a really short album but like everyone else says the lyrics are pretty generic but listenable check it out if you dont like it pass it on to someone else. I would maybe hold out for there next one if I were you!

Good But not great | Posted April 08, 2010
The music sounds great but the lyrics are second rate and for me hold no imagery. They seem to be very flat and two dimensional. I would love this band if you add lyrics like Leeland and Phil Wickham with soaring imagery and great guitar you would be amazing.

Pleasant | Posted March 24, 2010
I enjoyed listening to this album. Agree with others- there's definitely a Phil Wickham vibe. Wonder what a duet w/ him would sound like? Pick this up if for no other reason than to be able to compare it to their next one.

Eh ... | Posted March 22, 2010
I don't know ... it was just ok for me. Something to pass the time. The lyrics were the usual lyrics, not all the time connecting. The best I can describe it is elevator music for Christians ...

They are just starting, so hopefully they improve and dive into the scriptures for lyrical inspiration, instead of the music of their peers around them.

Adding Light to Luminate | Posted March 20, 2010
Definitely rock, lead singer has one of those smooth voices and is often accompanied by other members. Reminds me immediately of Phil Wickham, slightly faster though, the third song My God starts with almost the same beat as Phil Wickham's "The time is now" from the Heaven and Earth album,
Luminate sings with a sense of mission for God most of the songs seem to be crying out an anthem, a call to action, I like it. Several of the songs are pure praise music which are great to sing along to, i.e: Shine. Great artist I will listen to these guys for a while

Less than amazing | Posted March 17, 2010
Iluminate's first album is far from stellar. While they show some promise, they still have a long way to go. Overall, I would pass on buying this album.
