#68 - "It's All About You" & "Sweet Jesus" by pureNRG Kevin Davis speaks with Caroline of pureNRG about two of their latest singles from their new album The Real Thing.
Caroline: "Jesus is with us everywhere. Whenever you are down or having a bad day you can turn to Jesus who is our Savior, Shelter and Shepherd."
Caroline, Carolyne and Jordan returned to the studio to record their 4th studio project, The Real Thing, chock-full of the fun, upbeat songs kids and parents know, love, and have come to expect from pureNRG.
I got the chance to interview Caroline from pureNRG and ask her some questions about two songs from The Real Thing. You can listen to our entire interview here.
How did you all select the songs for The Real Thing?
The band has a song picking session and we all voted and picked songs based on beats and positive messages. One of the songs we discussed was “It’s All About You”, which is based on Isaiah 12:5 (NLT).
Sing to the LORD, for he has done wonderful things. Make known his praise around the world.
I just can't wipe it off
The smile on my face
I can't slow it down
My heart just beats at this pace
I've got a skip in my step and I like it that way
I've got a glow in my soul and it's there to stay
When I think about you
I just can't find it
When I think about you
There's no denying
Chorus: I just wanna sing and dance
Like everyday
Don't wanna stop, turn it down
Is that ok?
And when they ask just what's got me going so crazy
I'll let them know it's all about you
You've got me ridin' high
Like I'm on top of the world
You've got me feelin' like
Like nothing can stop me
I've got a skip in my step and I like it that way
I've got a glow in my soul and it's there to stay
When I think about you
You love me this way
When I think about you
Your amazing grace
Chorus 3x
I just wanna sing and dance
Like everyday
Don't wanna stop, turn it down
Is that ok?
And when they ask just what's got me going crazy
I'll let them know it's all about you
I just wanna sing and dance
Like everyday
Don't wanna stop, turn it down

For me, my favorite song on The Real Thing is “Sweet Jesus.” The song is based on Psalm 23:1 (NLT).
A psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need.
Caroline told me that “Sweet Jesus” is also one of her favorites on the album. "Jesus is with us everywhere," she says. "Whenever you are down or having a bad day you can turn to Jesus who is our Savior, Shelter and Shepherd."
Sweet Jesus, my Savior, You are my Faithful Friend.
You made me, You know me, You’ve seen my every sin.
My soul is amazed by the gift of Your grace and the arms that take me in.
Sweet Jesus, my Savior, You are my faithful friend
Sweet Jesus (Sweet Jesus) my Shelter, You are my Faithful Friend.
The Refuge (The Refuge) I run to (I run to) when the world comes closing in.
Why should I be afraid, when I know I am saved by the arms that take me in.
Sweet Jesus (Sweet Jesus) my Shelter, You are my Faithful Friend
Sweet Jesus, my Shepherd, You are my Faithful Friend.
You hold me, You lead me, I’ll follow to the end
And once more I will say, on that beautiful day, when Your arms take me in.
Sweet Jesus (Sweet Jesus) my Shepherd (my Shepherd……..)
You are my Faithful Friend……………. (You are my Faithful Friend……)
Sweet Jesus (Sweet Jesus) my Savior (my Savior)
You are my Faithful Friend
You are my Faithful Friend
Caroline’s comments regarding the theme of the album is that The Real Thing is about standing up for what you believe in, and not being afraid because God created everyone special and wonderful in their own way. God gives us all special gifts and pureNRG hopes listeners can find their special gift and use it for the Lord.
