CHARTING

@forestry: We're grateful for so much support today - the record is already #6 on the iTunes rock chart! http://yfrog.com/oefd8vp (July 10)

Indie rock outfit Future of Forestry released their first full-length album in years this week. Despite the project's underdog status, Young Man Follow climbed high on the iTunes charts.

@POD: Sonny recently spoke to Christianity Today about #murderedlove, "I Am" and their 5 year hiatus... http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/2012/julyweb-only/pod-rocking-again.html?paging=off (July 12)

After several years off the road and out of the studio, one of the most memorable voices of the 90s and early 2000s is back with a new, aggressive album. Check the link above for some thoughts from frontman Sonny Sandoval on the band's return.

@houseofheroes: Thanks for all of your feedback on #coldhardwant Y'all are the best! You can still get it for $3.99 at @amazonmp3 http://bit.ly/azdbchw (July 12)

If you want to pick up a good rock record that might remind you a bit of The Beatles, the latest from House of Heroes is for sale on Amazon for just $4.

TRAVEL TWEETS

@jonforeman: Back in California!!! http://instagr.am/p/M1u0FXNn1B/ (July 8)

Traveling far and wide for festivals has quite a few artists feeling a little more manic than usual.

@ManicDrive: Found a store selling swords and energy drinks... Good combination America... http://instagr.am/p/M8_HOpOY4P/ (July 11)

It is truly amazing what can be unearthed in the travel stops of America...

@davidmzach: Living on the edge http://instagr.am/p/NAffAInwzt/ (July 12)

If festivals rules are designed for safer environments for fans to see artists play, then can the artists themselves break the rules? David Zach of Remedy Drive seems to think so-- and as far as his twitter feed shows, he didn't get caught.

@jasonroy429: Best news of the day!!! Starbucks is only 5 miles from the festival!!! http://campl.us/kMCL (July 14)

Although summer festivals can turn many artists into survival experts who can endure much hardship, the occasional dose of caffeine certainly helps.

@JFrankenstein: I've been 100% Porta Jon™ for the last 2 days. Yesterday, I bathed in a lake. Hello hotel…. (July 14)

As previously stated, survival skills are a necessity during festival season. Jeff Frankenstein may have achieved a new level of hardcore by replacing showers with a lake.

@Willet: Tour pranked our new drummer by telling him that Wendy's gives free frosty's to people that show an out-of-state license at register haha!! (July 14)

The entry of a new band member provides endless opportunities for the more well-traveled members of a band--as Willet's new drummer found out the hard way this week.

NEWS FROM SUBURBIA

@davebarnesmusic: To the guy in the gray beat up suburban, I waved enthusiastically because I thought you were someone else. But I don't take it back. (July 7)

If you happened to drive by Christian musician Dave Barnes this week in your gray suburban... he didn't mean to be creepy. Probably.

@calebgrimm: "I'm already planning our reunion tour when we're like 50. It's gonna be amazing…" #stuffjoeysays @josephstamper (July 13)

Joseph Stamper, the newest member of Anthem Lights seems to be fitting into his job well. They might have the best reunion tour ever, given that they're planning it long before they have any intention of breaking up.

@kevinmax: Ironically, I'm up before my wife & children- coloring & watching Toy Story 3 #Saturday (July 14)

Some Saturday habits die hard. Even when your kids aren't there to perpetuate them.

@nathancochran: My long hair always comes in handy when my daughter wants to practice styling. Don't I look cute!! http://pic.twitter.com/fwIQz92E (July 15)

Few things speak as strongly of a dad's dedication as his willingness to surrender his hair. Nathan Cochran of MercyMe definitely proved his dedication with this pictures.
