Warning: spending too much time in a band may result in extreme exhaustion... and, if you're in Anthem Lights, looking more and more like your bandmates.
A lot of information was tossed around the Christian music Twitterverse this week. Some of it was useful--there are quite a few new music videos and albums in the works--and some of it less so. (Ever wondered what vocalists do when they get sick?) Get caught up on all the latest information and anecdotes below.
As always, if you'd like to keep tabs on over 1,200 Christian artists, check out our exclusive NRTwitter page to read the latest tweets from the Christian music community.
Despite the continuing hot summer temperatures, Bryce Avary braved the weather to make a music video for the song "200,000" from his latest album, Life Will Write the Words. Be on the lookout for the result of his suffering later this year.
Anberlin released the official street date and part of the cover for their new album via Twitter this week. Keep checking their Twitter feed for teasers.
@mattmacdonaldis: Trying not to freak out today. One major hurdle down, years on the grind in the making. Thanks to our Kickstarter Backers! (July 31)
The Classic Crime's latest effort, Phoenix, is one of many fan-funded albums to come out this year. Though the official release date is August 14, Kickstarter backers got the album two weeks early, and are already giving very enthusiastic reviews.
Anchor & Braille (the side project of Anberlin frontman Stephen Christian) released their sophomore album on Tooth & Nail records this week. If you picked it up and love it, instagram or tweet them to let them know.
After another long silence, Flyleaf is finally giving fans some new material--and it's well worth the wait. Check out the above link to hear the debut of their new single (and the upcoming record's title track) "New Horizons."

EVACUATE THE DANCEFLOOR
@iconforhire: Anyone want to cut Adam Kronshagen's hair?! Bring clippers to Rock The Desert and you'll be more than welcome to... http://fb.me/1GbUa2gxZ(August 1)
If you were are Rock The Desert in Midland, Texas, this week, you had an open invitation to cut a drummer's hair. We have to wonder if there were any takers...
@raptureruckus: Had to evacuate the dance party at @thesoulfest tonight after 10mins as floor was breaking. We'll make it up to U all to tomorrow at 4:30. (August 2)
Apparently at Soulfest this week, Rapture Ruckus rocked the house, causing near structural failure. There are worse problems to have than partying too hard.
@FamilyForce5: Me USS Cray boat got sunk. Went down wif me ship but Yuns survived derr wreckage @thesoulfest 2012! Almost lost me life!! Arghhhh! (August 3)
Continuing in the trend of rocking too hard at Soulfest, Family Force 5 lost the stars and stripes rubber life raft that has been deployed for crowd surfing this summer. Apparently Captain Soul Glow went down with the ship in style (if you want video evidence of the shipwreck, watch here.)
@mikedonehey: Dude, this tape delay rules! USA won the women's gymnastics twice today! (July 31)
This week quite a few artists (including Mike Donehey of Tenth Avenue North) have been enjoying watching the Olympics in their spare time. As with most pastimes, modern technology adds a slightly different spin on the experience--you get to celebrate every victory more than once.
@kevinmax: Got a throat/chest cold- but I'm watching 'chariots of fire' & singing Henry the 8th I am..... Coping. (August 1)
Kevin Max manages to keep it classy even when sick. His medicine apparently consists of going old skool.
@MoriahPeters: I just got my phone shipped back after leaving it on the streets of Chicago. I feel like an irresponsible mother. (August 3)
The constant location shifting inherent in being a musician often result in lost items. Fortunately, the prodigal phone did eventually make its way back to artist Moriah Peters this time around.
Jon Foreman of Switchfoot discovered an unusually appropriate typo in his mail this week. It's amazing how often typos can correspond to subjects most often on your mind.
@JustinF_WAH: You could pretty much post anything and then come back in 10 min and be like...Sorry I got hacked haha hmmm (August 2)
Justin Forshaw of rock outfit We As Human has definitely discovered an interesting ploy for getting away with just about anything... which adds a whole new dimension of honesty to the "What's on your mind?" field on Facebook.
@TheCityHarmonic: "Hey, are you guys in a band?" "Yeah" "What band?!" have you heard of Underoath?" "YEAAHH??!!" "Great. We're in The City Harmonic." (August 2)
The City Harmonic employed an unusual marketing tactic with a curious fan this week. This definitely inspires some interesting collaboration ideas, though.
