Susie Shellenberger created Brio Magazine for teen girls published by Focus on the Family in 1990 and is currently still serving as editor. Susie served as a youth pastor and a high school teacher before starting Brio.
Represented by the Ambassador Agency, she’s in demand as an international speaker for women’s groups and teens. Susie is an ordained minister through the Church of the Nazarene and teaches an adult Sunday school class in her local church.
She’s written more than 40 books, has traveled to every continent in the world. Susie has debated Dr. Ruth on Fox News and has been featured as a teen expert on “The Montel Show.” Her university alma mater named her “Woman of the Century” in 2000.
Susie co-hosted a national weekly call-in radio show for teens (“Life on the Edge Live”) produced by Focus on the Family for seven years. She has taken more than 5,000 teens on mission trips around the world and instigated the Brio Mother/Daughter cruise for Focus on the Family.
Susie has been featured as a keynote speaker for the Girls of Grace conferences with Point of Grace for the past four years, and she has also traveled as a keynote speaker for Rebecca St. James and ZOEgirl.
In her spare time, Susie enjoys walking her 150-lb. St. Bernard and sometimes eating cereal for dinner.
