Bruce D. Main invests in young people. In 1988 he founded UrbanPromise Ministries in Camden, New Jersey to help inner-city youth succeed in all aspects of life through the Christian-based programs offered. Under his leadership, the ministry provides after-school programs, summer camps, employment readiness programs, entrepreneurial training opportunities, missionary internships, alternative schools for teens and the CamdenForward School—an alternative grade school experience for low-income families. In 1997, the vision expanded to include comprehensive youth programs in Canada, Malawi, and Honduras under UrbanPromise Ministries International.Selected by Christianity Today magazine as one of America's "Up and Coming Leaders Under 40," Bruce Main received his BA in theology from Azusa Pacific University, an MA in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a DM from Princeton Theological Seminary. He has taught as an adjunct faculty member at Eastern University, Princeton Seminary, and Fuller Theological Seminary and has been a featured speaker at mission conferences, colleges, and churches. Bruce coauthored Revolution & Renewal: How Churches Are Saving Our Cities with Dr. Tony Campolo. His recent books include Spotting the Sacred: Finding God in Unlikely Places and Holy Hunches.
