When my friend asked me to read this book, I was a little worried. I'm more into fantasy, such as eragon or lord of the rings. I was surprised when i fell in love with this book[and the whole series]! I just finished them all, and I'm continuing my way through all of Kingsbury's books. If you read, she will amaze you, and God will even speak to you through her books. :D

Beautifully written! | Posted September 09, 2008
This is one of the first books I ever read by Karen Kingsbury. I started this series and the Firstborn series around the same time, which was kind of confusing, but cool at the same time. Karen writes about things that happen to real people and makes you feel like you could fit into the story. You feel the emotions that the characters feel. This book deals more with Kari than the rest of the Baxters, and it is an amazing story that will keep you reading late into the night. I could not put it down, and then of course I had to read the rest of the series...

This was the first Karen Kingsbury book I've read, like it is for most, and I fell into the trap when I read this one. I had to get the second book, and then the third, then of course you can't leave off at the third, so move to the fourth..."i have to know how it ends, read the fifth and final book!". So I've read all of them, and this one as it not only captures my attention and entertains me, it speak to me and teaches me lessons for life through Kari Baxter, the 2nd oldest daughter in the book. I give this book 41/2 stars because out of the entire redemption series, this one's not my favorite, but it's probably second favorite.
