Thought provoking | Posted October 30, 2009
I enjoyed this book so much. The first time I went through it, I was a bit overwhelmed by the concepts Lewis was bringing out. But the second time reading it, everything became clear. He portrays an interesting arguement for God that I had never considered before. I'm actually involved with a small group that is going through Mere Christianity and I'm again amazed by how straight forward his arguement is. I highly recommend it.

Apologitics without being a textbook | Posted January 06, 2009
one of my favorite cs lewis books beside screwtape. as an ex-athiest lewis describes in detail why he believes what he believes. i've read several Christian apologetics books and this one is more personal.
i took the half star off because of he uses the term Mohammidans instead of Muslims, but i had to keep reminding myself that this was written by an early 20th century brit.

british writers are wicked sick | Posted August 27, 2008
I love C.S. Lewis' writings especially this book. It pretty much somes of the basic doctrines of christainity. It goes beyond denominations and pretty much sums what christians beleive, like forgiveness, the cross, the trinity and so much more. It's pretty much stuff mature christians know but if your new to the family of God, this is a def. read.

C.S. Lewis Rocks! | Posted August 19, 2008
I love the fictional books he did, but if you are a "baby" Christian who has learned the basics of Christianity and are starting to plateau then check this book out! This book is definitely "meat" and not "milk."

The great thing about this is that these tapes were done in or around 1943 and it still applies to today's times and culture. After each page I wanted to write a new blog, and with each sentence shout "Preach it!"

What is more, I did not know that C. S. Lewis use to be an atheist and so because of that, has a great way of thinking from all sides and views. He has the intelligence of a genius with the analogies of a close friend. Of course, I wouldn't substitute this book for The Bible; that could be dangerous, but it is a great book for All Christians to be able to think and question and pray about how we should live, and more about our faith!
