We've all done it- we've all had those oops Embarassed moments when we realize a song doesn't quite say what we thought it was saying. Lets share! I'll get us started:

The Classic Crime- The Fight
Correct lyrics: Would you cry for the weak and die for the peace of men
Misheard as: Would you cry for the weak and die for the pizza man

I seem to do this with Relient K far too often.

For example, I had just bought 5 Score and 7 Years and was listening to it straight through. I came upon "Devestation And Reform":
Correct lyrics: "I feel like I was born / For devastation and reform"
I mishead: "I feel like I was born / To a stationary form"

Had no idea what it meant, but it sounded right...

Um, anything by Norma Jean or UnderOath? In fact, search "Norma Jean Interpritation" or "UnderOath interpritation" on YouTube for some crazy videos where they put subtitles of what it sounds like. Really funny.

On Aly and AJ's song "Never Far Behind"...
The lyric was "...And I will be there waiting."
It sounded like, "...And I will be your lady."
That kind of changes the whole meaning of the song, huh?
Haha

John Anderson is a country star that I grew up listening to and he has a song called "Let go of the Stone" and until I was like 15 I thought it was "Let go of the Storm" My parents really had to laugh at me

Ya, I was trying to get my friend into Demon Hunter the other day, an he kept on saying "it sounds like they're swearing". But it really doesn't, well at least to me.

Here's a new twist...ever get the lyrics of old hymns messed up when you were a kid?

Especially Christmas carols...

"...and having a nation sing, and having a nation sing..."
"...hark the hair, old angels sing..."
(Why in the world are those old angels worrying about the hair?? What hair??)

"...blessed insurance, Jesus us mine..."

"I stand, I stand in all of you..." (huh????)

I misheard lyrics to Jump5's song "Spinnin' Around". ya know, Brandon sings really fast in that song. and in the 2nd verse when he sang "All these definite maybe's". I thought he was saying something about Baby's. Rolling Eyes

and in a worship song that we sing at church, but I can't remember what song it was.
