With continued music piracy, the common practice of single-song purchases online, the economic recession and the high price of fuel, record labels are feeling the effects--and are turning to innovative revenue generation to keep afloat.
In a joint press release today, Gotee Records and real estate franchising corporation Century 21 announced that the hit Jamie Grace song "Hold Me" has been licensed for a series of eight commercials highlighting the tweak on the popular tagline, "Hometown Associates" to "Homeytown Associates."
The commercials will also introduce an animated single-dwelling home, named Homey who sings an appopriately altered version of the Jamie Grace hit to a smiling, live-action real estate agent.
"I love I love I love I love the way you SOLD me!" croons the house as a parade of the homebuyer's family members cha-cha's through the front door into their new home.
"You know what, man? That commercial's gonna be bumpin'!" remarked Gotee Records CEO Toby McKeehan. (McKeehan--also known as tobyMac--is featured on "Hold Me" with Jamie Grace.) "It's happy, it captures the spirit of what Jamie's tryin' to do, and it gets people excited about home ownership. I can't think of a better use of this song in the commercial world."
The licensing agreement comes on the heels of an agreement Manic Drive made with Xbox for a "Halo" tie-in.
