in the middle of "giving up music for Lent." Music is such a powerful vehicle for reaching my mind and heart with the Gospel of God's saving love in Jesus, but I can and often to get a bit obsessed. This Lent, from March 9 (Ash Wednesday) through April 23 (the day before Easter) I will listen to no music on radio, cd player or internet radio - not even listen to the radio at all, not even news and talk. This is a serious sacrifice and I offer no boast in it, but to give it up that I might realize the sacrifice of Jesus for me and for the world. The truth is, I have so many songs of worship and praise that play in my mind and heart - for instance Addison Road's "What Do I Know of Holy?" that was with me throughout the day on Ash Wednesday - a powerful word from God to me.
May God bless you with a sure and certain sense of God's presence and his peace in Jesus Christ through the 40 days of Lent and to our cdelebration of Christ's death and resurrection.

back from Purple Door, thrilled to have, finally, seen Demon Hunter LIVE. They ROCKED! But what was even better -- got into a special limited access acoustic set by House of Heroes that was amazing. If you haven't picked up Suburba yet - get it!

For Those Who Wait by Fireflight
Let's get this clear right up front - there isn't another band out there that combines the clarity of message, the beautiful lead voice, and the willingness to rock it out loud that Fireflight brings to the table. Here, once again it's all on display. ...

Awake by Skillet
It was a year ago at Revelation Generation in NJ that I first saw Skillet live. I knew their hits but was so jazzed by their live show which moved me to backtrack and find their earlier music. I'd have to say Comatose was my favorite (and really enjoyed ...

The Long Fall Back To Earth by Jars Of Clay
I knew the cd was coming out soon but was surprised to find it at WalMart on "release day" and just had to pick it up. I've been drawn to the band from the beginning - I remember seeing them sing "Flood" on the Today show way way back in the day. I ...

The Dash by John "The Tonic" Wells
It seems like it must have been a year ago I heard "I Am . . . Still" on my local Christian Radio station. What is this? I asked myself. It was infectious. It was powerful. I loved it. But I don't like Rap. I don't like Hip-Hop. There was something ...
