About Me I'm 19 years old, and I'm planning to major in medical research after I get further into college, but for right now my major is biology.
I've always believed in the Lord, but I didn't grow up in a church, and definitely didn't act like I did for a while as a younger kid. Although I didn't ever do anything illegal, I wasn't a very nice person. After about sixth grade, I started realizing this more after seeing that it wasn't right, and I started trying to be nicer. That's where I guess things started turning around.
In my first year of high school, I got closer to a friend of mine who I didn't know too well before then. I saw that he really had a close relationship to God, and truly lived out his faith. This helped me to realize that I needed to do better and start learning about what I claimed to believe in (before this, I hardly knew anything about the Bible, except the most famous stories; I found out later that I hardly knew anything, even about Jesus!).
In December of that year, I came early to my English class with my friend to finish up the last night's homework. A Christian club was going on in there. I figured that I might as well listen while I worked. After it finished up, I was surprised when the leader gave my friend and I an application to join. I figured that I might as well, and so I started attending. This also helped me to start being serious about my faith.
In early January, I decided that I should start reading the Bible. I had hardly even picked it up since elementary school. I read up til around the seventh chapter of Genesis that day. That was one of the turning points in my life, and what helped me to truly dedicate my life to Jesus.
I've read most of the Bible now (All except a few parts of the general letters and Revelation) and have been going to church for a little over a year. July 16 will be a year after my baptism. Although I've strayed away some, I hope to start getting better again and learn to trust and look to Jesus more.
