Working with the Daycamp Kids (ugh) Category:Misc Thoughts Views:

So today I woke up and went to my church gym to help work at a basketball clinic for the daycamp kids.... keeping 3, 4, and 5 year-olds in a straight line for a couple of seconds is not as easy as it may seem!! AAAAHH!!! One kid went to the water fountain and literally wet his entire shirt... two boys kept fighting over whose ball was whose... one kid wouldn't listen etc. That age group stayed from 9 AM to about 10:15 (it seemed like several more hours) then the elementary kids came in, and they were a lot easier to handle (I didn't have to help them dribble the ball like the tiny ones.) At least the older ones quieted down and listened but I had to take charge on the little ones. (Don't get me wrong, kids are great, but it's best when they behave. haha) We played knockout and did several different drills that were fun, but I'm glad the running on my sore feet is over and it's time to relax with NewReleaseTuesday on a Friday afternoon... :)
I relax now... or, at least until we have to do the clinic again. The daycamp leader of the toddlers said afterward that it "went well and we'll have to do it again sometime."
OK, so the other day I blogged that I went to a piano audition on the 16th, and yesterday I learned that I was picked as a state winner!! This is the first time that I've actually been picked... usually the judges that you play for are pretty tough, so it's nice to FINALLY be recognized. Next step... another recital. I'm so thrilled. (Yeah right.)
Whew... glad this weekend's almost over!! I woke up on Friday the 16th around 7:30 AM to go to State piano auditions four hours away from home... then I came back after the audition the same day and arrived home at 4:30 PM... then it was time for my little brother's K-5 graduation that night :)... then on Saturday came a rehearsal for a piano recital... then today that recital took up most of my afternoon!! Now tonight I'm going to see the new Prince Caspian Narnia movie (which I heard was better than the first) with some of my fam. Time to relax... WOOHOO!!
