Interview with Stasia Osho
How would you describe what you do?
I’m a Contemporary Gospel/ Christian singer/songwriter who strives to inspire and encourage people to follow Christ and accept His will for their lives through music.
How long have you been doing this and how did you get started?
I started writing songs at 12 but I’ve been singing since I was a small child in church. As a junior in college, studying Fashion Merchandising, I decided to use my singing and songwriting skills for the Lord in the Christian/Gospel Music industry. This decision came after receiving a huge vote of confidence from friends and family once they heard my music. I started ministering at several different college and church events and was greatly inspired by my fans.
Who made the most impact on you and why?
I have one very close friend who I call my lifelong cheerleader. She is actually the first person to suggest to me that I should consider singing for the Lord. I also have three other very talented friends who studied Opera and Vocal Pedagogy in college. They helped me develop my voice. I sound so much better because of them and I’ll never forget their support.
Give us a recap of the year 2008. What have you done to add to your success?
2008 has been good to me. I recorded my best songs and released them as an EP. The response I’ve received from supporters has been a blessing.
If you could have done something different last year, what would that have been?
I would have recorded this one song I wrote called, "God Gave us Power". I have fans that are not happy that it wasn’t on my EP.
Other than a stack of money, what are the resources that you need to help you?
I need a team of great people to bring me to the next level.
What do you think you are going to need to learn about the business to help you be successful?
I need to master patience. I’m finding that this is very important.
Are you working on anything new?
I’ve written so many songs since I’ve recorded my EP and I can’t wait to get back into the studio to record them and release a full length album.
Where are some of the places that you have been playing?
I’ve ministered at several East Texas church and college events and even a few venues in Africa.
Where can people learn more about you? What's your web site?
They can learn about me at http://www.stasiaosho.com.
What words of wisdom do you have for others who are just getting started?
Obey The Three P’s! Be persistent, be prayerful and be patient!
Is there anything else that you'd like to share with the readers?
The world needs what you have to offer!
