For those of your who don't know, Charlie is a Christian Music pioneer who made some of the most groundbreaking CCM in the 80's and 90's; he also has wrote and produced many other great Christian arists; and discovered the band Switchfoot as well. DCTalk did an acoustic verision of Charlies song "In the Light" off of thier Jesus Freak album, giving the song new found success. If you listen closely to the last vocals on the re-make you can tell it's no other than Charlie himself.

I stumbled upon a free download from Five Iron Frenzy on Noise Trade.com. If you don't know they are a really cool Christian ska band that just got back together and began touring again, they will also be releasing a new album sometime next year.
Then today I see a free download offer from another great ska band the Supertones, this band was really BIG when I was a teenage during the mid 90's. Download is also being offered on noisetrade, many of you may already know this if you are very internet Christian music savy but I wanted to share anyway for those like me who may just be discoverying this for the first time. Ok, so I might be on the late train, especially because I think this offer was initially released in October of 2011. Anyway, the Great news is that The Rocket Summer aka Bryce Avary has release a FREE Live Acoustic Album containing sixteen of his best songs with album picture, entitle Bryce Avary His Instruments and Your Voices. Funny story about how I found this guy; I heard the song "So Much Love" on the radio back in 2007? And right off the bat I loved it, but could never remember the name of the artist except that it had something summer in the name. The song was short lived on my Christian radio station Air1, so I never heard anything from him again. But for some reason like I do from time to time I was reminded of that great song and decided to look for it on i-Tunes; just entering the word Summer in the search engine. I saw the title Rocket Summer and it rang some kind of bell, listened to the "So Much Love" clip and it was even better than I remembered but I wasn't expecting to find all his other songs to be just as good or better. Needless to say I am now downloading and listening to his songs from his last two albums (Of Men and Angels & Do You Feel) over and over again. Also he is touring with Switchfoot this Spring which will be an epic event especially if they are coming to your town, check his or Switchfoot's websites for more info.
