Where Is Your Ministry?
Category: Life
Views: 165

Recently a friend asked me about what my job/calling/ministry was.

Honestly, i don't have a set ministry or calling etc. within a church exactly, as i've had so many past scars from 'em that i just don't embrace joining any more ministry groups. Instead i just go where GOD and my heart lead me. Little things like opening the door for people at the post office, or smiling at those i walk by in the grocery store and complimenting the cashier when they count back my change, are what i consider my ministry. To some, these things seem small and meaningless, but in reality, they just might be what changes a person's life.

I remember a time years ago, at church when i went up to a lady and said, 'Hi, you look like you just need a hug.' A few weeks later she approached me and said that it had really made her day, and it was because i'd gone up to her and given her a hug, and showed her kindness that she decided to come back to church, and we even became good friends.

Seriously, you never know when a small meaningless thing will actually change a person's life. There's so much hurt that goes on in this world and within the church, that people just need to know that someone cares enough to give them a small ray of sunshine.

My friend reminded me that even Jesus still cries, and the only scars in heaven are His, and that's so true! It desperately breaks His heart to see the things that happen on earth. One day though, when we get to heaven, GOD will heal us of all our scars, but until then, it's what He uses to shape us for His perfect ministry on earth.

You don't have to be a world-renouned evangelist like Billy Graham or D. L. Moody in order to minister to others. All you need is a servant's heart and the Lord to guide you. :D

Many thanks to my friend John, for your kind words of encouragement and inspiration. :D
