Religion and Therapy Category: Misc Thoughts Views: 197 Today a group of us discussed the role of religion in therapy. I was able to meet with a coworker who was a member of another faith and learned so much about my own beleifs. I realized that the basis in most of the worlds religion is the same: a desire to change, and become better. It is a chance for use to become the best we can be, no matter our denomination or beleifs, they all come back to human beings desire to be a part of something bigger, to feel that something out there loves them. It is almost as if something at birt was taken from our hearts, and the basis of our life is to find a way to fill in what was taken. We do not know what it is, but know it when we find it, and embrace it when we do. That something is love, and the purest form of that love comes from God, who promises us He will never fail or forsake us (Deut 31:6). All are Gods creation and all seek to return to Him whether you beleive in another person's religion or not, that beleif comes from finding a portion of Gods love that has been placed in these earthen vessels. Explore your own religion, and I challenge you to look at others beleifs and before you reject or condemn them look at them and you may just see the face of God peering back at you.
