a. The reverent love and devotion accorded a deity, an idol, or a sacred object.

So if we're talking about actual WORSHIP, we're saying it's LOVE, and DEVOTION towards GOD.
 

b. The ceremonies, prayers, or other religious forms by which this love is expressed.

Again... love. "This LOVE is expressed". That's pretty... big.

Worship, basically, is love. Worship is expressing your love for God. And since when is that something to put on "the list"?

To Do Today:
1. Take out the garbage
2. Update Facebook status
3. Worship God.

Sorry, but that's totally messed up.

Back to my story.

The part when I really like, got into it (that's a horrible term, but the only thing I can think of that's appropriate.), was at one particular song (that I'm sure a lot of you have heard.). "Beautiful Things", by Gungor.

Goodness.. Everytime I hear this song, I sob like a ninny. Like, no joke. So when the band started playing it I just thought, "I love this song! ...Oh wait, now I'm gonna cry. Everyone is going to think I'm crazy." But it didn't go down like that at all.

"You make beautiful things out of the dust."

The moment those words came out of my mouth, it hit me. I could just feel God like.. there. And there, in that moment, was the coolest thing ever. Just standing there, barefoot, singing to God how I feel.. nothing like it.

I know this may all sound like some cheesy greeting card, but for crying out loud, I'm dead serious.
 

There is nothing like God's love.

God loves you, you screwed up little sinful human, no matter what. All He wants, is for us to LOVE Him back. Express our love for HIM. WORSHIP HIM. He made you BEAUTIFUL out of the DUST.


I'm gonna challenge you here... Take worship off the to-do list. How about.. the I-would-be-HONORED-to-do list. When you worship, don't do it out of obligation. Do it because you want to express your love for God.

Worship God.
