Escape 2008 rocked and rocked out loud and God was awesome
Views: 277

Well Escape 2008 was amazing! Thanks to those of you who have been praying for us! God showed up in awesome ways this weekend; I have had the problem with just kinda bypassing the old testament because the new testament is what has all the miracles of the church and the life and ministry of Jesus and Paul and such. But God showed me two amazing chapters that make up the book of Haggai, and in the second chapter vs. 6 and 7 it says: 6 "This is what the LORD Almighty says: 'In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. 7 I will shake all nations, and the desired of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory,' says the LORD Almighty." And these two verses sum up the crucifixion, resurrection, and Pentecost. The Holy Spirit definitely showed this to me, well it's like this, this prophecy took place in 520 B.C. (approx. 550 years before it all happened). When he's prophesying about the earth and the dry land and the sea, he's talking about the crucifixion and how he shook the earth with the death, and he then shook the heavens with the resurrection, and then Pentecost came and the new home was filled with glory. And this new home, or the New House that is promised glory, this home is our hearts and that's where th Holy Spirit resides the temple of our hearts, and the thought of that is just crazy amazing! But yeah so thanks again for keeping us in your prayers and I ask that you guys continue to do so. Rock on and rock the faith!

Awesome! Sounds cool. Yeah, the OT is easy to pass over sometimes, but if you look in-depth there's some very interesting stories there. Because the OT is more about peoples actions, the NT is more about instruction in how to do things. But if you look at the people actions in the OT you can see some interesting things. Like the story of Job, and sometimes more familiar stories even like Daniel and the lions, or Jonah and the whale, or the traveling of the Israelites in the desert(had to add another one that didn't involve an animal :P). Also, Isaiah and the prophets are always interesting to look at like you were pointing out too because they point ahead to Christ.
