Do You Trust Me?
Category: Bible Study Devotionals

Trust. One of the hardest qualities to truly learn. It is easy to speak about. So easy to receive, yet so hard to give out; especially in times when we've been failed so many times. To say "I trust you" is to give your life, your control, and your will. When you trust, you give complete faith that someone will do right on your behalf. It's easy to trust when you have assurance that everything will work out. It's easy to trust when you know and understand what the ending result will be. But what happens when you don't know? What happens when you are unsure of the road and path you take?

So many times I've uttered,"I trust You, God". Yes, I trusted Him with various areas of my life, but did I truly trust Him with my whole heart? That would mean giving all control in my life. The truth is seemed like it was so much easier to take care of things on my own. I remember when I penned the words to a song called "Lord, I Trust In You":

"All of my life I surrender
With You, Lord I find hope again
Though with my eyes I may not see
With faith, Oh Lord, I will believe"

I remember reaching a valley in my life where I finally became tired of trying to make things work. I dealt with making hard life decisions and questioned direction in my life. I remember God asking me, "Do you really trust me with ALL of your life?" There were times in my ignorance by my actions I said, "Lord, I've got this. I think I can handle this one." Of course in the end I always found myself wasting time! If only I could have trusted Him.

"All" of my life. Giving my all! Once again it is easier said than done. We work so hard to work things out on our own. We handle our relationships, our finances, our business affairs, and even life decisions. What would happen if we relinquished all control to Him? Could it be that He alone knows what is best for us and is looking out for us? What would happen and where would we go if we let God truly order our steps? I dare you to try!

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
