The time has come Category: Life Views: 272 (The title's a little epic, I know--cue dramatic music--Dun, dun, dun)...but seriously. In a way I feel like I'm counting down to my death. The first in my close group of friends (my best friend, in fact) just turned 18. It's not like I expected anything different. I knew time wasn't going to stop and, as much as I hoped it was possible, I can't stay young forever. And yet...it's still getting to me. My last year of high school. Then it's time to enter the real world. So much has happened to me but putting it into perspective, there's SOOO much still to come. That really scares me because my thoughts tend to stray to the negative, "Oh gosh, what MORE could God throw at me?!" side. Reality has just slapped me in the face. I've been doused with cold water and rudely awakened. For someone who's wanted to grow up so fast, go to college, and become what she's always aspired to be--a writer--I sure have been slow off the starting blocks. The time has now come to start taking those steps toward my future. And man I'm scared!!!
