This is mine: Sweet Jesus (c) 2009 When we fight like verbs And love like nouns There is nothing more profound Than understanding grace for the first time You sleep in darkness But you rise to the light Cover yourself and rest But there is no hiding what's underneath Jesus, oh sweet Jesus I have built my life on The empty promises and The unfulfilled dreams Jesus, oh sweet Jesus When it all came crashing down I became a fool On shifting sand lay the rubble Shelter me I have become An enemy of myself I have fought for survival And loved objectively I lay my bed in the lowest pit And fought to wake in the light I have tried to cover my filth But you see all of me Jesus, oh sweet Jesus I have met you at the cross You died innocent This is believe Jesus, oh sweet Jesus Broken I have come Here are my sticks and stones On you I want to stand Everything I was I exchange for Your free gift You have canceled my debt When I bowed at your cross I can't run nor can I hide You meet me in my shame Your blood covers me And I am whole again Jesus, oh sweet Jesus A sinner I am born But in you I find new life Because of the price you paid Jesus, oh sweet Jesus I met you at the cross Rejected sentenced to die In you I believe Innocent you are Blameless you are Jesus, oh sweet Jesus On you I want to stand
