My Hope Is In You Lord
Category: Bible Study Devotionals

I can always find hope no matter how hopeless things may become. Hope for me is not based on what is happening around me but on what is happening on the inside of me, down in the depths of my soul. The hope that lies within me is God Himself who dwells in my heart. (Rom 15:13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.) It is the indwelling of His Spirit in my life that brings me hope regardless of the circumstance. I have always found hope rising in my heart that is always sufficiently and proportionately supplied in relation to the degree of the attack in circumstance. God said it this way; “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

Where did I find this kind of hope? I found it in His promises. Paul writes :Hebrews 6:18 (New Living Translation)

18 So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.

By trusting in His promise and oath I find a hope that always brings me a peace that goes beyond what my natural mind can comprehend. My mind, a lot of the time, freaks out when I first encounter a circumstance that looks utterly hopeless. At that moment I have a decision to make, go with my mind, or trust in His promise. If I go with my mind then it will be a roller coaster ride of emotions that more often than not makes the circumstance seem more ominous than it is in reality. I have learned that it is always much easier to just hope against all hope by just trusting in God’s promises. No matter how bad it may seem, He always pulls me through. Praise God! Paul continues writing;

Heb 6:19 we have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul that reaches farther and enters into within the veil, (AMP)

So, What will your decision be the next time you encounter a hopeless circumstance?

Have a Great Day.
