Romans 12:1-2 says, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."
I've been thinking about this passage a lot for several reasons. One, it clearly says that real worship, worship that is done in Spirit and in truth, is to present our whole body to God as a sacrifice. That is true worship - everything we say and do and think should be what God would have us say and do and think. Secondly, I've been thinking about the importance of not being conformed to this world. When we act differently from the world, the world will notice a change and want what we have. On the other hand, if we act the same as the world, they will think we are worldly. Since we are in the world but not of it, we need to make sure that we are conformed to the image of His Son -- Jesus. We want to be someone who turns people to God because of our difference. If we don't point them to God, no one else will.
So here's my challenge to you today: Make sure that you are living in such a way that when someone looks at you, they will say, "Woah, man, you're different! Why is that?" You can tell them about the Son -- the One who gave His life for you and them, and wants to change them too.
