Skillet returns with another awesome album. The lyrics are inspiring and touching, while the melodies may cause head-banging and losing yourself to the music. Comatose is very edgy and loud. The band doesn't...

a very fun, friendly album | Posted July-23-2008
This albums was fun, upbeat, and a great addition to the Hawk Nelson collection. I know some people say Hawk Nelson's music doesn't go deep enough into the Christian faith, but I personally really like their music style. It's very easy to listen to, and when I listen to this album, I wanna get up and dance!

The song "I Still Miss You" talks about the grieving for a deceased grandmother. It is a very good song that touches on Jesus being "bigger than the cancer in you." It's a different and softer version of most of HN's music, but good nonetheless.

The single "Friend Like That" is very catchy, upbeat, fun, and happy. This is one of the album's songs that makes you want to jump up and down. It talks about God being the greatest friend anybody could have.

"Let's Dance" is another fun one talking mainly about defying what the world tells you to do and just doing what you feel comfortable with. Part of the chorus says, "I don't want to live, like someone else I'm happy in my skin, bein' myself. Let's dance."

"One Little Miracle" is another one of my favorites. It features Amy Grant. This song talks about having faith and how one little miracle can get you through tough times.

Overall, I enjoyed this album very much. The lyrics were deeper and more mature, while Hawk Nelson's same energetic sound returned once again.

Barlow Girl keeps getting better | Posted July-23-2008
How Can We be Silent is, in my opinion, Barlow Girl's best CD yet. Compared to the albums Barlow Girl and Another Journal Entry, this album has more depth and meaning. All the songs hit Christianity and real-life issues head-on. The lyrics are so inspiring and have so much depth; the word "ouch" ran through my head a few times when listening to the words. The music is bound to inspire and relate to people of all walks of life. Also, the melodies are more mellow than the band's past albums. How Can We Be Silent is worth every penny!

Skillet's best CD | Posted July-23-2008
Skillet returns with another awesome album. The lyrics are inspiring and touching, while the melodies may cause head-banging and losing yourself to the music. Comatose is very edgy and loud. The band doesn't scream, but the music is still intense, though in a good way. Skillet's style has really improved with every album they release, and I think they have piqued to a high in their greatness. This CD rocks.

Superchick Rocking What They Got | Posted July-23-2008
Superchick's new album is definitely a good way to keep their career going. The songs are catchy and upbeat; they will get stuck in your head more often than the tracks from Beauty From Pain. All the lyrics are positive and encouraging, just like in the band's past albums. I would say that a major theme to this album is to life to the fullest not letting other people bring you down, and to stand up for what you believe in and create a revolution (a good kind of revolution)! Listeners often find they can relate to the messages of Superchick's music. This will definitely be true for Rock What You Got. Their new CD may not mention God directly as many times as some have hoped, but it is apparent that God has been working through them to convey positive morals. Superchick continues to inspire listeners with music that just makes people wanna get up and dance.
