Welcome This Hurricane | Posted November-17-2009
Living on the Gulf Coast,I have had my share of hurricanes recently.Hurricans Rita and Ike are two that will never be forgotten in SE Texas.
The new CD from Switchfoot,"Hello Hurricane" is another story.I welcome this hurricane with open arms !! This is the best CD Switchfoot has EVER put out.Every song is great. My favorite song is "The Sound". Other great songs on this CD are "Mess of Me","Needle and Haystack Life" as well as two awesome ballad-type songs "Your Love is a song" and "enough to let me go".The lyrics to these songs are very catchy.I find myself humming and singing these songs in my head quite often.
Words cannot express howtruly awesome this CD is.
This is a must have for any music lover.

I Confess -This is Great !! | Posted October-13-2009
I have been patiently waiting for the "new" Pillar to release their CD. Let me tell you,it was well worth it. "Confessions" is a must have for devoted Pillar fans. The CD opens with a brief Intro leading in to a fine song,"Fire on the Inside".I love the way Pillar puts out a great rockin' beat with lyrics that speak of God's love for us and other spirit filled messages. In My opinion, there is not a bad song on this CD. My favorites are "Whatever it Takes", "Secrets and Regrets" and "Lose it All". They have 2 great ballads on the CD, "Better Off Now" and "Will You be There". The best song on the CD I have saved for last - "Shine". I love this song !! I am sure this song will be #1 on Christian rock radio in the not too distant future.
I love Pillar !! The new additions to the band are great. I cannot wait to see them on tour with this CD. I know it will be an awesome show.

In these hard economic times,I try to be sure to get as much information as I can before buying a new CD.Thanks to this website as well as a few others,I decided to purchase "Into The Light" by Phil Stacey.
This is an excellent CD !!My favorite song on this CD is"Glorious".This is an awesome praise song. I sure hope this makes it to CCM radio. It will be a big hit for Phil.I also enjoy "Inside Out","One","Sanctuary" and "Some Kind of Love".
The bonus song "Old Glory" made me proud to be an American. This is an awesome patriotic song.
IMO,this is one of the top ten CD's of 2009.
I look for great things ahead for Phil Stacey in the future.

Richly Blessed | Posted May-05-2009
I recently was sent this Cd and asked to give my review on this site. Here goes
Newcomer Jason Allen Rich has put out his first CD titled A Beautiful Life.I will say that Jason is an excellent singer/songwriter. His voice is easy to listen to.The opening tract,"Taste and See" is a good song.It is a good reminder of what it is to be a servant of the Lord. My favorite song on the CD is "Redefine".On this song,Jason sounds a lot like Phil Wickham to me.
(this is very good- right Wookie). The chorus of this song really spoke to me."For all of my life
I will trust you with all of my life. You alone can satisfy me.With your love you redefine me".
This is how I feel about the Lord. I must say I got choked up the first few times I heard this song.It is now definitely one of my favorites.
"Lamb of Glory" and "A Million Angels" are also very good songs.
My only complaint about this Cd is there are only 6 songs on it. I would love to hear more songs from Jason. I for one cannot wait for his next release.

I Love This Game | Posted March-19-2009
I have said in many forum posts that my favoriye song is "For The Love Of The Game" by Pillar. Then I realized that I need to do a CD review of this CD.This is my favorite Pillar CD.
It is awesome !! The title song goes without saying is a song I never grow tired of hearing. The vocals are great as well as the excellent guitar and drumming.IMO,Lester and Kaleel are the best rhythem artists in rock. It is truly a shame they have left the group.I wish them well in their new endeavers. That being said, the rest of this Cd is great."Turn ItUP" is a good song that takes many of its lines from other well known Christian songs.I always try to count how many I know during the song.My list grows every time I hear it."Reckless Youth" and "State of Emergency" are great rock songs as well. These songs speak to the young people to take back what has been lost."Get Back" has a greatbas line that I really like.It urges all of us to get back to what is important-living for God."Smiling Down" is a good ballad song on this CD. This is an outstanding Cd that needs to be addes to everyone's CD library.I urge everyone to get into the game, you will not regret that you did.

This Flame Is Hot | Posted October-15-2008
Canada's finest Christian rock band,Thousand Foot Krutch, has released its best album to date.
The Cd starts off with the title song,"The Flame In All Of Us".This is a great song with an uptempo beat.It has a great message for today's times. This Cd does not have any bad songs on it. I enjoy listening to "Falls Apart","Favorite Disease","My Own Enemy" and "Broken Wing". My favorite song on the Cd is "New Drug". The song states that"I want it, I need it,I believe it, You are the new drug". IMO,the best "drug" to be hooked on is to be hooked on Jesus. This song should relate to the younger crowd.
"Wish You Well" is a slower song that speaks about helping someone you love and support them in what they do for the Lord.
The hidden song,"The Last Song" is a catchy tune. It is a great way to close out this CD.
If you enjoy listening to Decyfer Down,Disciple,
and Kutless you will love this CD.I have a hard time getting it out of my CD player in my truck.
It is definitely on my top 10 CD's list of all time !!

Better Get This One | Posted October-07-2008
Hailing from Mesa,Arizona,Ever Stays Red has hit a home run with their new release On The Brink Of It All. This CD was released in March,2008 and I have been kicking myself for not getting this CD sooner. This band is awesome !! Lead vocalist Dustin Carlson has a voice so different and so distinctive that makes these songs so great.
"Rocks and Reeds" is an 55 second intro to the title song that if you didn't know it, you would think it is part of the song. "on the Brink of it All" is a fine rock song with a great message
to never give up. I can't believe this song has yet to gain popularity on Christian rock radio.
"Run" on the other hand was the Number 1 song on Christian rock radio for five weeks in a row. This is another great song. It rips with guitar and wild drums. I never tire of hearing this song.
"Can't Explain" is a great song. The lyrics to this song are awesome. It is a great song about God's forgiveness of our sins to a life lived for Him.
Other truly great song on this Cd are "Life in the Fire",agreat song dealing with one's own spiritual life. "Glorious" is a fine worship song that I am sure will also be a big hit for ESR. This song is upbeat yet also hits the mark with apassion for the Lord. "Look to the Hills"
will also be a big hit for ESR. This song is very positive and assuring of a new day coming- a
new Day of the Lord.
This CD is a sure fire top ten CD selection for 2008. There is not a bad song on this CD. I urge everyone to pick up this CD.Ever Stays Red is a band to keep an eye on for the future.

Fire When Ready | Posted August-05-2008
San Diego worship leader Phil Wickham has hit the mark with his third album Cannons.Phil's passion for God is very clear on this CD.It is evident by songs as "Must I Wait" and "After Your Heart". These songs encourage me to pursue the Lord with everything I have. They really convict me and keep me on the narrow path to Jesus. "True Love" has to be one of the best worship songs I have ever heard. The lyrics are powerful and speak directly to my spirit. I agree with Phil when he says in the song that you have to lose your life just so you can find it. I pray this song is a big hit for Phil. Everyone needs to hear this song.
"Jesus Lord Of Heaven" is another great song on this CD.This was first released on Phil's first independent album. This too is a great song.
The final two songs,"Home" and "Spirit Fall" are
excellent songs as well. These songs speak of what is important - being at peace with the Lord.
Phil Wickham is an excellent songwriter. You really won't appreciate this Cd until you listen to it a few times. Then and only then will you agree with me- these cannons have hit their mark
which is our hearts.
This is Phil's best Cd and I highly reccomend it to all of you.

This Is Where You Are | Posted July-08-2008
Atlanta,Georgia's rock group,Third Day has another big hit with their CD,Wherever You Are. The Cd kicks off with a great tune "Tunnel". This is a very encouraging song. I esp. enjot the line in the song " There's a light at the end of this tunnel for you". This lets me know that I am never too far from God that He won't draw me closer to Him.
"Eagles" is a great song as well. Taken from the book of Isaiah, we can fly on the wings of eagles and be lifted up above all our troubles. This is a great song.
"Cry Out To Jesus" was a big hit on this CD. This song really spoke to my family. My brother-in law passed away fron a drug overdose. We played this song for strength and encouragement. I am sure there are several other stories like ours associated with this song.
"Communion" is an awesome song. Our praise team at church plays this song when we have The Lord's Supper at our church. This song really helps emphasize the beauty of Communion.
"Keep On Shinin'" is a different kind of song for Third Day. To me it has a disco sound and beat to it with a spiritual message associated with it. Imagine my suprise when we saw Third Day on tour and they played this song. They dropped a huge disco ball and Mac Powell did his best John Travolta disco dance to this song. It was amazing.
"Mountain of God" is simply a great song. The words are powerful and really speak of God's love for us."Carry My Cross" is another great song on this CD.I can see Jesus speaking to us about what He did for us when He went to Calvary.
This is one of my favorite Third Day CD's. Every song is great. This is a must for every Third Day fan ( the Gomers). If you get the chance to see Third Day Live in Concert, please go. They are tremendous.I have seen them four times and cannot wait to see them again.

Turn Up the Heat | Posted June-05-2008
South Carolina quartet,NEEDTOBREATHE has hit the motherlode with their sophmore release,The Heat.
Lead singer/songwriter,Bear Rinehart, has really done well. With great songs such as "Restless"
"Return" and "WE Could Run Away" the beginning of this CD is fabulous. It is then that this CD kicks up the heat."Streets of Gold", "The Heat"
and perhaps one of the greatest praise songs written,"Signature of Divine (Yahweh),are heard. This song really speaks to me every time I hear it. With Bear's unique voice, this song is sure to please all. "Moving On" and "Washed By The Water" also are a great way to close this CD.
"Washed BY The Water" is currently getting a lot of play on CCM stations. My wife heard this song on the radio and really liked it. She has borrowed my CD and has yet to return it. She is now an official member of The Breathers, the NEEDTOBREATHE fan club. I urge everyone to get this CD. You will not be disappointed.
