Every now and then, an invention comes around that completely changes the way we live and interact with the world around us. The light bulb, the telephone, the television, the computer, the Internet, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts (for real)–all are products that have moved our society forward, (some may argue backwards) at an accelerating rate.
One of these inventions is the .mp3 player. Made “mainstream†by Apple and their infectious iPod players and iTunes software (the company has sold 10 million iPods since their launch in late 2001). The technology has been adopted faster than any previous audio product to date and has spawned an entire new way for customers to consume music.
Enter the PodCast—an emerging formula that allows users the ability to download and/or subscribe to a plethora of programs and listen to them whenever and wherever they want on their computer or personal .mp3 players.
PodCasting became popular late last year, and already there are literally thousands of options available to consumers, the majority of which are free to subscribe and download, but none of which offer any substance to the topic of this forum: Christian music.
