SUMMER ALBUM!| Posted June 15, 2010
This album is so catchy- First heard "Here In this MOment" on Air1 this past spring and I loved it- kind of reminded me of Chris Brown's "Forever"- I am glad to see some of the sonic elements and beats being used in mainstream music cross over to the Christian genre. Her voice is great. Songs are good. Beats are awesome.

I instantly liked this release myself and was excited to find Christian music in a style that was actually done well and had some real quality. This CD became an instant classic with my two teenage daughters and they listen to it weekly if not daily. This release has become one of the Christian albums that they play when their non-Christian friends come over (in a sense...one that they seem really proud of) as it sounds very similar to many of the songs you can hear on secular pop radio...but Beckah's release is full of God honoring lyrics and void of the absolute trash so prevalent in just about all the secular songs in this music style. Thank you Beckah for all you do!
Solid Release| Posted June 27, 2011
Beckah Shae's message and music caught my attention earlier this year with the song "#putyourloveglasseson" and I eventually downloaded this release. It's a pretty solid release with catchy lyrics and bouncy hip-hop beats. The first four tracks are my favorites, especially the title track, however after that each track starts to sound the same. Not that they are bad at all. In fact they are quite good, I just wish the music was a little more out-of-the-box and each individual track had a better idenity.
All in all, Life is a solid album from Beckah Shae and I'm excited to see what she does in the future.
Not your average Hip/Hop| Posted April 11, 2011
The name Beckah Shae has been floating around for a while, and her tracks started showing up on stations like Air1 and WayFm. I very enjoyed the first two radio releases "Life" and "Here in This Moment", and I've kept an eye on her and her music.
I finally decided to purchase the whole album after listening to the rest of the tracks several times. (I find myself buying albums less, because most give you one or two "good" songs, then the rest just fill time.) However, Beckah's album has a great pace, you find a great beat and cleverly written lyrics that do have substance.
Songs like Surrender and Forgiveness capture some deep themes while keeping the music enjoyable - even capturing some of the good ol' hymns in a catchy remix. The Life album has a solid musical production, a good flow of tempo and rhythm and of course a positive theme that points to the Creator all the while having fun.
Put the top down, and turn up the music - this album was meant to be played LOUD!!
